Cheshire Basin – PEDL 197

The licence is located in the Cheshire Basin of northwest England. The Cheshire Basin is an onshore extension of the prolific East Irish Sea Basin in which over 176 mmbbls and 6 tcf of gas has been discovered. The licence was awarded in July 2008 for an initial 6-year term and covers an area of 200 sq kms.

Celtique has a 100% operated interest in the licence.

The reservoir objective is Triassic sands sealed by overlying shales and evaporites, sourced by the underlying Carboniferous aged shales and coals. Within the Licence a block faulted high has been identified with considerable potential that has a form analogous to the Lennox Field that is productive offshore to the north.
