Central Weald – PEDLs 231, 234 and 243

The Licences are located in the Weald Basin of Southern England. The licences were awarded in July 2008 for an initial 6-year term. The licences cover an area of 1000 sq kms.

Celtique has a 50% interest in the licences.

A series of oil and gas discoveries have been made in the area, however Celtique are chasing an unexplored Triassic gas play. The reservoir objective is Triassic sands sealed by overlying shales, sourced by underlying older shales. The key to the exploration is the identification of deeper unreactivated fault blocks that cannot be seen on the older seismic data. Recent seismic reprocessing has shown that such large features do exist. Additional potential lies in the more usual Jurassic reservoir objectives that produce around the basin margins.

The Central Weald has unconventional oil and gas potential in the Jurassic at three levels: Liassic shales, Oxford clay and Kimmeridge clay. Additional unconventional potential lies in tight Jurassic reservoirs.

South Weald – PEDL 242

The Licence is located on the southern margin of the Weald Basin of Southern England. The licences were awarded in July 2008 for an initial 6-year term.

Celtique has a 50% interest in the licence.

The reservoir objective is the Middle Jurassic Great Oolite carbonate reservoir that is productive in the nearby fields of Singleton, Lidsey and Storrington. The existing seismic data in the area is being evaluated to gain better definition the identified fault blocks as potential drilling targets.
