Celtique Energie

Benefits

Q. How many jobs will be created?

A. We consider our investment in local services to be of significant economic benefit to the communities where we operate, in turn underpinning further employment. We need to complete the first phase of exploration in order to quantify the extent of potential development which in turn will determine the total number of jobs created. Celtique has a policy of employing local contractors and services wherever possible.

Q. Could local community gas bills be reduced?

A. Market conditions and regulations will determine how much of this benefit is passed on.

Q. Would your operations really improve our nation's energy security?

A. Any indigenous oil and gas resource will help the nation's security of supply and will displace imports and bring about economic benefits in terms of taxation and the balance of payments.

Q. Shouldn’t governments be focussing its attention on renewable energy?

A. In the end this is a matter for policymakers. However, the fact remains that European countries will not be able to bring on-line enough renewable energy without some recourse in using fossil fuels. It is therefore not incompatible with the long-term aim of increasing renewable energy capabilities as natural gas or oil provides a good stop gap due to its comparatively low CO2 emissions. Moreover, it will be essential to secure our gas supply in light of the expected increase in demand.

By committing to operating at the highest standards and working openly with local communities, we aim to give countries the means to develop their own resources
