Cheshire Basin – PEDL 197

The licence is located in the Cheshire Basin of northwest England. The Cheshire Basin is an onshore extension of the prolific East Irish Sea Basin in which over 176 mmbbls and 6 tcf of gas has been discovered. The licence was awarded in July 2008 for an initial 6-year term and covers an area of 200 sq.kms.

Celtique has a 100% operated interest in the licence.

The reservoir objective is Triassic sands sealed by overlying shales and evaporites, sourced by the underlying Carboniferous aged shales and coals. Within the Licence, the Hoyle Prospect has been identified which is a block faulted high with considerable potential. It has a form analogous to the Lennox Field which is productive offshore to the north. The Hoyle prospect has mean recoverable resources estimated at 42 mmbbls.
